Project Balance · 90-Day 1:1

Rebuild your life so work supports the life you want.

Project Balance helps senior operators and founders move from constant survival to steady performance—through clarity, structure, and sustainable boundaries in a focused 90-day one-to-one program.

We start with clarity—on how close you are to burnout today, and what has to change in the next 90 days to keep your body, mind, and career intact.

3 minutes to complete. No email required for your result.

“I looked successful. I felt exhausted.”

Most clients arrive here after years of doing “what it takes” at work—late nights, always-on Slack, rescuing broken projects—while quietly eroding their sleep, energy, and self-respect. They’re not lazy or undisciplined. They’re just out of room to keep absorbing everyone else’s chaos.

Project Balance gives you a structured, evidence-informed way to pull back from the edge—without burning your career to the ground in the process.

The real problem

The Real Problem

Chronic stress and over-responsibility quietly erode performance, sleep, and relationships. It's not a failure—it's a predictable outcome of high-responsibility systems.

  • Always being on-call and blurred boundaries
  • Sleepless nights and decision fatigue
  • Rising irritability, strained relationships
  • Declining clarity and performance despite long hours

Over time, this doesn’t just make you tired—it rewires how you make decisions. You say yes faster. You ignore early warning signs. You start believing that feeling constantly behind is just how adulthood works.

Burnout rarely announces itself. It creeps.

  • You’re awake at 3am solving tomorrow’s problems in your head.
  • Weekends are for “catching up” rather than actually resting.
  • You oscillate between over-functioning and quiet resentment.
  • Small requests feel enormous. You start fantasizing about escape plans.
  • The people who love you get what’s left, not what’s best.

Project Balance starts by making this pattern visible and measurable—so you’re not just “trying to be less stressed,” you’re working a clear plan to exit the burnout cycle altogether.

Alexander Lobb · Founder, The Wholesome Way

Coach, researcher, former over-functioner.

Meet your coach

Alexander built Project Balance from lived experience.

Alexander is a coach and researcher who once over-functioned to the point of steady decline. He rebuilt his operating system, became a coach, and now helps leaders reclaim capacity without shame or moralizing.

He holds training in clinical coaching and evidence-based behaviour change, pairing practical qualifications with an empathy-driven approach that meets people where they are.

I went deep into the research on stress, recovery, and behaviour change—and then spent years testing what actually works for real, time-poor humans. Project Balance is the distilled, practical version of that work: no wellness platitudes, no 5am miracle routines, just clear structure, honest reflection, and accountability that respects the reality of your life.

If you want someone to cheerlead you into “hustling smarter,” I’m not your person. If you want someone to help you rebuild your life in a way that’s kinder, saner, and still ambitious—without letting you quietly slide back into old patterns—then we should talk.

Is this for you?

Project Balance is for high-responsibility humans who are done pretending they’re fine.

  • Senior operators, founders, and leaders who feel like the “glue” holding too many things together.
  • Professionals in tech, consulting, healthcare, law, or education with blurred work/home boundaries.
  • People who are highly competent on the outside but quietly anxious, depleted, or irritable inside.
  • Those who’ve tried apps, books, or wellness hacks—but nothing has stuck for more than a few weeks.

Ethan, 35 — COO at a fast-growing company. He looks successful but wakes at 3am with a list of undone tasks, feels loyal to being always available, and worries his health and relationships will pay the price. He wants steady performance without burning out.

The emotional truth (most people won’t say out loud).

Burnout isn’t just about workload. It’s about identity. It’s about feeling like:

  • You're afraid that slowing down will cost you momentum or credibility, so you keep pushing.
  • Saying no feels like abandoning others, even when it leaves you drained.
  • Noticing how much people rely on you makes you reluctant to pull back—it feels risky to be seen as replaceable.
  • You sense something important will break if this continues—your health, your focus, or your relationships—and that uncertainty is exhausting.

In Project Balance, we treat these fears as data, not defects. Together, we separate what’s true, what’s inherited from your environment, and what you actually want your life to stand for.

The goal is not to become fearless. The goal is to become honest—and then build structures that hold you when your old habits try to drag you back.

If nothing changes

The quiet, compounding cost of inaction

When slow declines go unnoticed, small stresses accumulate into persistent health problems, reduced energy, and diminished clarity—making it harder to act later.

  • Chronic health decline; sleep, immunity, and energy erode over time.

  • Weakened relationships—as stress reduces presence, connection, and patience.

  • Slower career trajectory;reduced focus and capacity limit opportunities for advancement.

  • Long-term loss of capacity; skills and resilience can atrophy without timely support.

The risk is gradual: habits and systems shift to accommodate lower energy and ambition, so over years you may have fewer options and less capacity than you expect.

Project Balance helps you make that turning point intentional and manageable.

Get a reality check (that doesn’t shame you).

Use the Burnout Quiz for a clear, non-judgmental snapshot of where you are, physically, mentally, and emotionally.

You’ll see: where you’re coping well, where you’re at risk, and where we’d focus in the first few weeks if we worked together.

Program philosophy

Program philosophy

Our approach centers on three guiding pillars:

Structure over willpower

Small, reliable systems that fit your life—success by design, not by force.

Experiments over perfection

Try short, low-stakes trials to discover what actually works for you.

Accountability with respect

Support that honors your limits and helps you keep promises without shame.

The 90-day framework

Three structured phases to steady performance.

Every client moves through the same core structure, tailored to your specific context, capacity, and goals.

Weeks 1–3

Stabilise & see clearly; assessments, sleep and stress basics, immediate boundary wins.

  • Quick burnout & capacity check to prioritise relief.
  • Reset sleep and stress basics to restore daily energy.
  • Install immediate boundaries that reclaim weekly hours.
  • Define clear 90-day outcomes to guide decisions.

Weeks 4–8

Rebuild your operating system; sustainable daily rhythms, delegation, and focus blocks.

  • Create sustainable daily rhythms to reduce decision fatigue.
  • Establish delegation patterns to multiply capacity.
  • Protect focus blocks for deep, uninterrupted work.
  • Implement 1–3 structural changes to cut recurring friction.

Weeks 9–12

Lock in & future-proof; stress-tests, habit locking, and resilience planning.

  • Stress-test boundaries so they hold under pressure.
  • Lock habits with simple cues so gains stick.
  • Build resilience plans for inevitable setbacks.
  • Plan the next 6–12 months from a rested, sustainable base.

Tools & mechanisms

Tools & mechanisms

You’ll build a personalised “Project Balance playbook” during our work together, including:

  • A realistic weekly rhythm you can sustain.
  • Short experiments that prove their value before you scale them.
  • Templates and scripts to protect your time and make boundaries simple.
  • Personalised weekly experiments tailored to your context.
  • Regular accountability check-ins to keep progress on track.
  • Guardrails for high-responsibility roles that protect focus and decisions.

Every tool is built with a simple test: will this still feel doable on your worst week? If not, we simplify until it does.

How we work together

A calm, high-touch container: weekly 1:1 coaching, clear experiment plans, check-ins, and flexible accountability that respects your role. We measure progress by sustainable gains—sleep, focus, relationship health, and reliable performance.

The program is intentionally intimate: a 1:1 partnership with Alexander, not a group program or course. Together we design a cadence that supports you without adding noise.

  • Touchpoints
    • Weekly 1:1 coaching calls (60 minutes) focused on decision-making, problem‑solving, and designing clear experiments for the week ahead.
    • Structured async check‑ins between sessions for updates, course‑corrections, and timely support.
    • Personalised resources—scripts, templates, and tools tailored to your role and constraints.
    • Light‑weight tracking of sleep, focus, and stress to spot patterns without extra admin.
    • Clear communication guardrails and flexible accountability that respect your calendar.
  • Expected outcomes
    • Sustainable gains in sleep, focus, relationship health, and reliable performance.
    • Practical experiments you can run without added overhead.
    • Increased clarity, steady momentum, and confidence in day‑to‑day decisions.

The experience is deliberately spacious: enough contact to create real momentum, not so much that your calendar feels even more claustrophobic.

How this compares

Not therapy. Not a productivity cult. Not another online course you won’t finish.

Project Balance sits in the space between deep inner work and practical execution. Here’s how it differs from common alternatives:

Compared to therapy

  • Therapy often focuses on processing the past. Project Balance focuses on redesigning the next 90 days.
  • We absolutely talk about feelings, patterns, and history—but always in service of concrete decisions and experiments.
  • This can sit beautifully alongside therapy, but it is not a replacement for clinical mental health support.

Compared to generic coaching or courses

  • No 200-slide slide decks. No one-size-fits-all frameworks imported from a corporate manual.
  • We don’t chase abstract goals like “be 10x more productive.” We define what a good life looks like for you and work backwards.
  • You’re not left alone to “implement” between sessions—accountability and support are built in.
