About Alexander Lobb

From burned out tech professional, to work-life balance coach and podcast host

Five years into my corporate tech career, I realised I’d been chasing someone else’s definition of success. On paper, everything looked great. Inside, I was exhausted, anxious, and constantly wondering, “Is this it?” That wake-up call sparked my leap into entrepreneurship as the host of The Wholesome Way podcast and founder of my coaching practice, The Balance Project.

Today, I help overwhelmed full-timers break free from burnout, redefine what success really means to them, and create a life where ambition and wellbeing can finally coexist.

“My mission is to inspire and guide people to be more healthy and fulfilled than they ever imagined.”

The turning point

Chasing someone else’s dream left me burnt out

In my corporate tech career, I did everything by the book. Worked hard. Hit the targets. Collected the promotions. From the outside, it looked like progress. On the inside, it felt like I was slowly losing myself.

I was constantly tired, my mind raced at night, and no matter how much I achieved, it never felt like “enough.” I realised I wasn’t chasing my own version of success — I was chasing everyone else’s.

That realisation became the line in the sand. I knew there had to be a more "wholesome way" to live and work — one where I could be ambitious and genuinely well.

My mission today

To inspire and guide people to be more healthy and fulfilled than they could ever imagine — without sacrificing their ambition or pretending everything is fine when it isn’t.

  • Calm, trustworthy, relatable, and honest support
  • Structured frameworks that fit into a busy life
  • Space to define success on your own terms

If you’re craving a life of living and working on your own terms — or just want to have a real, judgment-free chat — I’d love to connect with you.

Who I’m here for

Meet Ethan; and the men I support

Ethan is a 28-year-old from Sydney working in a big corporate office. He’s the oldest son, the one everyone quietly counts on. From the outside, he looks like he’s winning: good job, nice apartment, always put together. On the inside, he feels like he’s running on empty.

He’s exhausted, his mind races at night, and he’s terrified of letting people down, especially his family. On paper, everything adds up. In his chest, it feels tight, anxious, and uncertain.

“I feel like I’m carrying everyone’s hopes on my back. What if I mess up? What if I’m not actually as put together as everyone thinks?”

  • Feels stuck in a life that looks perfect but feels exhausting

  • Hates saying no because he fears disappointing others or seeming weak

  • Has panic attacks before big meetings and lies awake over big decisions

  • Wants calm, clarity, and to enjoy the life he’s building, for real

When Ethan looks for help, he wants something simple, calm, and non-judgmental — tools that work in real life without asking him to quit his job or move to a mountain cabin.

The Wholesome Way is built for Ethan, and for every ambitious man who quietly carries the weight of others’ expectations while craving a life that finally feels like his own.

Find your balance

A simple 3-step way to feel lighter

You don’t need a massive life overhaul to start feeling better. You need clear steps, honest support, and simple tools that fit into the life you already have.

  • Step 1: Complete a short quiz so we can understand where you’re at.

  • Step 2: Get personalised tips based on your answers, no generic advice.

  • Step 3: Try one small change at a time and feel how much lighter life can be.

If nothing changes…

  • Chasing someone else’s dream will keep you running in circles.
  • Burnout won’t fix itself — you’ll just get more tired.
  • Anxiety will keep stealing your best moments.
  • You’ll stay on autopilot instead of living with intention.

You deserve more than to just “hold it together.” You deserve to feel calm, energised, and genuinely proud of the life you’re building, not just how it looks from the outside.

The Wholesome Way identity

Calm, trustworthy, relatable, honest

Everything about this brand — from the colours and typography to the tone of voice — is designed to make people like Ethan feel safe, seen, and supported.

A deep, grounding grey that signals substance, reliability, and quiet strength. It creates a sense of security without being loud or overwhelming.

A soft, off-white shade that feels non-judgmental and approachable. It reflects clarity and peace, the emotional space Ethan craves.

A warm, muted gold that feels hopeful yet steady. It reassures Ethan that he can be vulnerable and still be seen as strong, reliable, and capable.

Questions, answered honestly

You’re not the only one wondering this.

Is this just for men like Ethan in corporate jobs?

We’ve designed The Wholesome Way with men in high-pressure, professional environments in mind – people carrying a lot of responsibility at work and at home. If you relate to Ethan’s story of looking successful on the outside but feeling exhausted inside, you’re in the right place, regardless of your exact job title.

Do I have to share everything about my life?

No. You’re in control of what you share. The quiz is a simple starting point to understand your stress and burnout patterns, not a therapy session. Any deeper work we offer is always done with your consent, at your pace, with clear boundaries.

Will this tell me to quit my job or move away?

We don’t believe in blowing up your life to feel better. Our focus is on realistic, sustainable changes that work in your current world: better boundaries, clearer priorities, and tools to calm your body and mind – while aligning with the career you’ve worked hard for.

How fast will I notice a difference?

Many men notice small shifts quickly: sleeping more deeply, feeling less drained by the end of the week or handling tough decisions without spiralling. Everyone moves at their own pace, but we intentionally design for quick wins plus longer-term change.
